IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is a procedure for selection of candidates for the various positions in the banking sector in India. IBPS is an autonomous agency operating from Mumbai and has arrangements with corporations, insurance firms and public sector banks etc.
IBPS helps its clients in the selection process of hiring new streamlined and straightforward candidates. Lakhs of aspirants looking for job in the banking sector apply for the exams every year.
The announcement of the vacancies are announced as per the requirement time to time. A common exam names CWE (Common Written Examination) is conducted instead of an individual exam by the bank. There are different cadres related to banking sectors that include, CWE Clerk, CWE PO/MT, Specialist officer, RRB officer etc.
IBPS 2017 Selection Process:
The selection process for the post of IBPS PO/MT is carried out in three stages. The first stage being Preliminary Examination and the second stage is the Main Examination & third stage is Common Interview conducted by IBPS.
IBPS PO Online Examination:
Examinations will be held in two tiers, one being a preliminary online examination and the other being the main examination which consists of objective type questions. The preliminary exam of 100 marks and has a duration of 1 hour. The main examination is of 200 marks and has a duration of 2 hours. For each wrong answer there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks. In case you do not attempt a question, there will be no negative marking.
IBPS examination syllabus consists of Reasoning Syllabus, English Language, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude which comprises of Math. All examination question papers will be made available in both English and Hindi apart from the English language test, which will only be available in English. You can always prepare for these exams with the help of NCERT Books for Bank Exams.
To be considered for the shortlist and personal interview, candidates are required obtain a minimum score in each subject.
Common Interview:
An interview will be organized for the shortlisted candidates of CWE PO/MT-IV, conducted with the help of IBPS and the participating organizations of the Nodal Nodal bank in each state.The interviews will take place in select centers.
A total of 100 marks will be allotted for the interview. The minimum qualifying marks being 40% and in the case of SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates it is 35%. To be subsequently shortlisted for the provisional allotment process, candidates must qualify both in the interview and CWE.
Allotment:
After the interview is completed, candidates will be provisionally allotted into one of the participating organisations depending on the vacancies available and merit of the candidate and the reservation policy, guidelines and various guidelines issued by Govt. of India during the financial year of 2017-18.
